Being in the UK, and not a subscriber, I’m always a little late to the party with Field Notes colors editions but I thought I’d share my Two Rivers pack nonetheless. Mainly because the way this edition was manufactured means that every pack should be different. Which is cool.
The covers were produced by The Hamilton Manufacturing Company of Two Rivers, Wisconsin. This video explains it pretty well:
Field Notes – ‘Two Rivers’ Edition – COLORS Spring 2015 from Coudal Partners on Vimeo.
I’m really pleased with my pack! I was a bit sad that I didn’t get one with an animal on it until I spied the little pig on the back of the grey and red one. One thing I love about this edition is the copper coloured staples:
I got mine from UK based Bureau Direct for £9.25. If you’re in the US or elsewhere, you’d probably want to buy direct from Field Notes. Also worth noting is that $2 from the sale of each pack is donated to Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum.
Subscriptions are like a gift you send yourself – I’d love a Field Notes subscription but I would far rather pay on a monthly or quarterly basis rather than once a year! Maybe one day!
Haha, yes, and it’s important to give yourself gifts sometimes! I worry if I had a subscription that I’d never use them all in my lifetime! I quite like to see them come out and decide for myself. I enjoy all the hype around when new issues are released though 🙂
