Iroshizuku inks have a great reputation and I wanted to try them for ages. To start with, the bottle screams ‘classy’ and I would happily have this sit on my desk.
It’s difficult to choose a colour online. I wanted something interesting, but also not too wacky, so I can use it every day. I chose Tsuki-Yo, which translates as moonlight, and it achieves exactly what I wanted.
Using a dip pen, the colour comes out as a dark navy, which doesn’t seem too interesting, but you can see above that there are also greeny, turquoisey tones too. I LOVE it.
As well as the dip pen, I used it in my (new! review coming soon…) Pilot Prera, with a fine nib, over the last week. The bluey, green tones come out more with the fine nib, and it’s been working really well as an everyday ink. I haven’t yet tried it with different nibs, but I think the tones would really come out using something broader.

Wow, that’s gorgeous, I love how the black reveals the blue and green tones as you write. And the bottle is beautiful, I would be happy to keep it on my desk regardless of whether I am using it much or not 🙂
